Uniform

The Black Country UTC is committed to creating the scientists and engineers of tomorrow and ensuring students gain the necessary skills and knowledge for industry success. In line with our vocational ethos, students are expected to maintain the same professional manner and appearance they would adopt working in the industry for one of the UK's leading companies.

We expect students to wear:

UTC striped tie (boys only) Charcoal grey tailored suit Choice of charcoal grey trousers or skirt (girls only) UTC and Siemens lapel badge White shirt (suitable for use with tie - boys only) White shaped blouse (girls only) Plain black footwear Plain socks (not brightly coloured) Black showerproof coat

 

In addition they may wear:

Black sleeveless sweater with cyan stripe (optional)

We don't expect students to wear:

Make-up or nail polish Visible body piercings Jewellery - no more than: wrist watch, one plain ring, one pair of small ear studs (not rings - one in each lobe) Fashion belts - belts should be plain black worn through belt loops (large buckles are not acceptable)

Note: Artificial hair colours should be of a natural shade only. No extreme hairstyles.

It is important that all students maintain high standards in personal dress at all times.

Physical Education:

Navy & cyan polo shirt with white piping - unisex and girl fit Reversible sports shirt - navy/cyan - unisex only Navy & cyan skirt with white piping (girls only) Navy & cyan shorts with white piping (boys only) Plain navy track suit bottoms (optional) Cyan socks Football boots/training shoes Shin pads & gum shields must be worn for hockey Shin pads must be worn for football Gum shields must be worn for rugby

No jewellery to be worn. Long hair must be tied back. All equipment and kit should be marked clearly with the owner's name.
